从学术流行语到经验脚手架:对西方传播学领域“可供性”质性研究的系统综述

摘要:

在数字社会中“,可供性”成为一个备受关注的学术流行语,被学者们广泛使用。但其核心内涵和特征是什么?数以百计的学术论文是否“发现”了关于可供性的新知识,推进了理论发展?本文采用系统综述的研究方法,以281篇传播学英语期刊论文为样本,通过检视技术中介传播领域中可供性的技术场景、生成过程、内容指向、社会目标和价值判断等方面,深入探讨可供性的理论化问题。研究发现,可供性是一个被多重概念化和操作化的术语,可根据技术、用户和情境的多重可变性划分为动态的三个层次。同时,可供性应被视为一个变量而非常量,在充分发挥归纳法的基础上结合演绎法和量化分析,使其作为社会现实的组织框架,搭建起勾连抽象理论和实践世界的“经验脚手架”,进一步提升其理论化程度。
